Collection: Caítlin McConville

Caítlin graduated from Ulster University in 2024. Her work was shown in our Emerging Artists exhibition in 2024

Her work focuses on the process of delayed grief and mourning, specifically on the loss of her grandmother who had a profound impact on her childhood.  In her initial quest to express the loss of her younger years through art, she came to understand that she was fundamentally grieving the times when her grandmother was still present in her life. 

Caítlin's current work captures the essence of her grandmother through items such as her nursing uniform and jewellery. Interacting with these belongings, and imbuing them with new meaning through her art.

Caítlin’s work was shortlisted by Healing Through Remembering to be the ‘Art for the Day’ for the Day of Reflection, 2024.
